Likeness & Voice Consent Policy
When and how a real person’s face, body or voice can appear in ads made with Ori: identity checks, recorded consent, scope, revocation, and what’s never allowed.
The short version
- A real face or voice needs a real yes, from the person themselves. Uploading someone’s photo isn’t enough.
- The person verifies their identity, records their consent, and sets the scope: which brands, which markets, and for how long.
- They can withdraw at any time. New ads stop within 24 hours, and we help take live ones down.
- Never allowed: children, public figures without verified authorisation, people who have died, and lookalikes.
This summary helps you read the document. The full text below is what applies.
1. The default#
Unless you set up a verified likeness, the people in ads made with Ori are synthetic and not based on any real, identifiable person. Our checks look for real faces and voices in uploads and outputs, and block them when there’s no consent on record.
2. How consent works#
- Invitation. The business invites the person, for example a founder, an employee or a creator. The person completes every step themselves, on their own device.
- Identity check. They verify with an ID document and a short live selfie video, so we know the person consenting is the person in the footage.
- Recorded consent. On camera, they say which brand may use their face or voice.
- Scope. They choose the brands, markets and period, and whether their voice can be used. Anything outside that scope is blocked.
- Ongoing control. They can see where their likeness is used, and withdraw at any time.
3. Withdrawing consent#
When someone withdraws, Ori stops making new ads with their likeness within 24 hours. We tell the business, help take down ads Ori published, and delete the person’s face and voice models within 30 days. We keep a record of the consent and its withdrawal as proof (see the Privacy Policy).
Consent from staff must be freely given. An employee can withdraw even while still employed, and businesses must not treat a refusal or a withdrawal as grounds for any action against them.
4. Never allowed#
- Children. No real person under 18, even with a parent’s consent.
- Public figures. Politicians, officials and candidates are always blocked. Other well-known people (celebrities, athletes, influencers) are blocked by default; Enterprise customers can apply with proof of an endorsement agreement, reviewed case by case.
- People who have died. Not supported.
- Lookalikes and soundalikes. Asking Ori for someone who “looks like” or “sounds like” a real person is treated the same as using them.
- Sensitive uses. Even with consent, a likeness can’t be used for political, religious, sexual or medical-testimony content, or anything the person would reasonably find demeaning.
5. If your likeness was used without consent#
Write to info@zerohuman.co with a link to the ad. We take it down first and investigate after, and we suspend accounts that misuse someone’s likeness.
